The instrument is equipped with a system that recognizes when the sliding protection door is not closed and when the test tube is not in the proper position, without which the dosing pump does not start operation.

"Auto-Disteam" features the new patent "fast-steam" high-output steam generator and can produce up to 100 ml of distillate in less than 4 minutes. Since "fast-steam" does not produce steam using the traditional electrodes, wear and scheduled maintenance are substantially reduced. Hard deposits are avoided using distilled or demineralised water. "Auto-Disteam" distillers and the "DIG-6" and "MINERAL SIX" series distillers use the same type of test tube.

Distillation cycle may be programmed adjusting time and delivery rate of steam. Depending on product being analysed, faster or slower distillation may be selected. The product of distillation is collected into a flask for titering. The distillation residues may be expelled through the discharge valve. "Super-Disteam" and the "DIG-6" and "MINERAL SIX" series distillers use the same type of test tube.
