The cupboard's operating principle is based on a constant flow of air which is drawn into the cupboard from outside through the opened front panel, runs parallel to the work surface removing toxic fumes and is forced through the filter unit consisting of an electrostatic prefilter which retains particles present in the air and then through one or more active carbon filters in which contaminating chemical substances are neutralised and adsorbed. The filtered air may be reintroduced in the working environment or, if desired, ducted to the outside (pipe diam. for 1000 type: 200 mm; pipe diam. for 1200, 1500 and 1800 types: 250 mm).

Type 1000 cupboards may be fitted with one prefilter and one filter unit. Types 1200 and 1500 with 2 prefilters and 2 filters. Type 1800 with 3 prefilters and 3 filters (filter thickness 100 mm).

Air removed from the work area is filtered to chemically neutralize contaminating substances and adsorb them on the activated carbon. Practical and efficient, "Mobil-Chemo" is equally ideal for research laboratories, quality control centres and science institutes. The castor stand has a lower open compartment which can be transformed, by the addition of optional shutters, into a vacuum cupboard for storing bottles and containers safely.
