Should ISO/IEC 17025:2005 be revised?
The ISO/CASCO (Committee on Conformity Assessment) participating members voted to reconfirm ISO/IEC 17025:2005 for another 5 years. The standard will undergo another systematic review in 2015 and the revised standard would not be published until 2018.

Micropipette control in the laboratory
▪ Environment
Absence of turbulence air
Constant Temperature (15-30°C +/-0,5°C)
R.H over 50%
▪ Material
Analytical balance with humidity device
Thermometer
Barometer
Psychrometer
Distilled water
Suitable plastic tips
Small containers for water collection
P.C. with dedicated software (if available)
▪ Thermal Equilibrium
All instrumentation, accessories and micropipettes should be inside the room at least 2 hours before the beginning of the test to guarantee the thermal equilibrium
▪ Protocol
(a) Prepare the balance with the stable humidity system
(b) Insert the small container for dispensed water collection in the center of the balance plate
(c) Program the micro pipette with the volume to be tested (e.g.: 10, 100, etc. microlitres)
(d) Apply the tip to the micropipette
(e) “Condition” micropipette / tip
(f) Replace the tip
(g) Aspirate the volume of distilled water
(h) Deliver the volume into the small container in the centre of the balance
(i) Wait for the stabilization of the reading of the balance
(l) Transfer the reading on a working paper sheet  or P.C.
(m) Repeat the protocol from (f) to (l) for 9 times
(n) Elaborate the obtained data, referring to the micropipette specifications indicated by the manufacturer.
